paradise show - january 2020
PARADISE features work from my cumulative degree project, including a painted and appliqued couch and two machine tufted rugs. This series explores the duality and nuance associated with my personal ideas of home and comfort, and the ways in which the physical environment around a home can metaphorically represent interfamilial dynamics. The couch from this piece was donated to me by a friend; Its 25 year past is memorialized in its continued value as a sentimental object. The work from this exhibition was created in conjunction with my most recent line of garments, SUNBURN, worn by loved ones who inhabit this manufactured environment of home.
